AI & social media for a hotel: a month of content in one hour
Yes, you can plan and produce a full month of Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook content for your hotel in about one hour with AI. The method has three steps: generate an editorial calendar, write captions from reusable prompts, then repurpose each idea into several formats. Realistically, plan for 12 to 16 posts per month for a hotel account, AI drafts, you curate, and you always add your own real photos.
I'm Tiffany Weltman, a generative-AI trainer specialising in hospitality and restaurants. Qualiopi-certified (training eligible for OPCO funding), I have trained more than 2,500 staff at groups such as Accor, Paris Society, Airelles and the Plaza Athénée. Here, step by step, is the exact method I teach in my workshops.
Why AI saves time on social media (without replacing your eye)
Generative AI is excellent at what costs time without creating value: structuring a calendar, finding angles, producing first drafts, adapting one message from one network to another. What it can't do is live your guests' experience, take the photo of tonight's dish or feel the mood of your bar on a Friday. The right division of labour is simple: AI drafts, humans decide.
Without a tool, a team often spends 30 to 45 minutes designing a single post. With a method and ready-made prompts, you can cut that time substantially, this is an estimate, and it depends on how prepared you are. The goal isn't to publish more, but to free up time for hospitality and guest relations. I explain this logic in my article on saving time with generative AI in hospitality.
Step 1: your month's editorial calendar in 10 minutes
A good calendar rests on content pillars: a few recurring themes you rotate. For a hotel, I recommend six: rooms and suites, restaurant and bar, spa and wellness, behind the scenes and team, neighbourhood and local experiences, offers and highlights. A realistic cadence is 3 to 4 posts per week, split across your networks according to your audience.
Paste this prompt into your AI tool:
You are the social media manager of a hotel [category, city, positioning]. Build an editorial calendar for the month of [month], with 3 posts per week split across Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook. Use these pillars: rooms and suites, restaurant and bar, spa and wellness, behind the scenes and team, neighbourhood and local experiences, offers and highlights. For each post, give the date, the network, the pillar, the angle in one sentence, the format (photo, carousel, Reel, story) and the goal (awareness, engagement, booking). Present it all as a table.
Step 2: a caption in your hotel's voice
The AI trap is smooth, interchangeable text. The fix: define your voice charter once and paste it at the start of every request. Three adjectives (for example warm, refined, playful), formal or informal address, your emoji policy, and two or three words to avoid. This charter turns a generic draft into text that sounds like you.
Here is our hotel's voice: warm, refined, playful. We address guests formally, use few emojis and never empty superlatives. Write 3 Instagram caption variants for this post: [describe the idea and what the photo shows]. Each caption is 2 to 4 sentences, opens with a concrete hook and ends with a gentle call to action (a question or an invitation to book). Add 8 to 12 hashtags mixing broad reach, local niche and brand. Do not mention any service I haven't told you about.
Step 3: one idea, several posts (repurposing)
This is where the hour pays off. A single good idea, the launch of a seasonal menu, say, can feed four posts, each tailored to its channel. Instagram for emotion and detail, LinkedIn for craft and recruitment, Facebook for local guests, a Reel for reach. You aren't creating four times the work: you're repurposing.
From this single idea, [e.g. launch of the restaurant's new autumn menu], create 4 posts tailored to each channel: (1) a 5-slide Instagram carousel, with the text of each slide, focused on indulgence; (2) a more professional LinkedIn post, angle on the chef's craft or recruitment; (3) a warm Facebook post for local and family guests; (4) a 20-second Reel script, shot by shot with voice-over. Keep the brand voice defined above and don't invent any price or dish I haven't given you.
Hashtags, curation and real photos: the rule of 3
Three reflexes I repeat in every training session:
- Three-tier hashtags. Mix broad reach (#hotellife), local niche (#hotelmarseille, #oldport) and brand (#yourhotel). Aim for 8 to 15 relevant hashtags, not 30 at random.
- Systematic human curation. Check every figure, date, name and price. AI can invent a service you don't offer, it's up to you to cut it. Re-read for tone as much as for accuracy.
- Always real photos. AI writes the text, never the image of your rooms. A generic or over-edited visual creates disappointment on arrival and damages your credibility. Your real photos are your best asset.
To go further on writing, I share a library of ready-to-use ChatGPT prompts for hospitality.
Your one-hour routine, month after month
In practice, here's how to hold the hour:
- 10 min, generate the month's calendar with the first prompt, then adjust dates and highlights.
- 25 min, run each post through the caption prompt, keeping your voice charter at the top of the session.
- 15 min, repurpose your 2 or 3 strong ideas into multiple formats with the repurposing prompt.
- 10 min, final curation: fact-checking, choosing real photos, scheduling.
The first time, allow a little more: the time to calibrate your voice charter and your pillars. After that, the monthly hour becomes a steady rhythm. If you want to embed this method with your teams, discover my training programmes, in person or remote, eligible for OPCO funding.
FAQ
How many posts a month can you really produce in one hour with AI?
For a hotel account, a realistic cadence is 12 to 16 posts per month (3 to 4 per week). In one hour, AI generates the calendar and the caption drafts; the remaining time goes to human curation and choosing your photos. This is an estimate and varies with how prepared you are and how clear your content pillars are.
Can AI write posts in my hotel's voice?
Yes, as long as you give it a voice charter (three adjectives, formal or informal address, emoji policy, words to avoid) that you paste at the start of every prompt. The more precise you are, the more the drafts sound like your brand. You remain the final editor.
Do I still need real photos?
Always. AI writes the text, but the image must come from your property: real rooms, real dishes, real team. Generic or generated visuals that don't match reality create disappointment and hurt your credibility.
Is this AI training eligible for funding?
Yes. My training is Qualiopi-certified and can be funded through your OPCO. I work with hotel groups and independent properties, in person or remotely.
Want your teams to know how to do this?
That is exactly what the training covers.
